On Tuesday, October 1, all three ISD 834 candidates sat down with Margot Rheinberger from The Stillwater Gazette for a conversation. Since we are unopposed, Margot opted for a more casual format instead of the traditional formal forum. The conversation was 45 minutes and covered a range of topics including thoughts on our new superintendent, school funding, the start time and calendar changes coming next year, as well as school safety. I'm grateful for this opportunity and hope you find time to watch.
I am so proud to have earned an endorsement from the SCEA/SCPA/IUOE membership. Our teachers, nurses, social workers, school psychologists, counselors, paraprofessionals, and custodial staff know the needs of our students and I appreciate their efforts to get to know board candidates too. You can read my answers to the screening survey at the link below.
I am also supported by a local equity group dedicated to supporting equity minded candidates. I attended a Listening Session on September 26 hosted by Woodbury for Justice and Equality at the Stillwater Library with the other two candidates, Sarah Grcevich and Rob Parker. It was an informative conversation with community members and students. You can read my answer to their survey question at the link below.
